Ode to Roser

secret hills of st. pete
full of ferns so alive
and a long creek that teases me-
too shallow for a dive.

speedy minnows, tiny fish
if they jump- make a wish!
little flowers dot the pathways
without me here, they would thrive.

there were manatees the other day
last month, otters with my dad.
a bald eagle helped ring in thanksgiving-
now THAT was pretty rad!

secret thrills of st. pete
hiding wild and alive,
the augusta bricks warm under feet
as the sun begins to dive.
